We are also passionate about increasing market penetration of sustainable products, services, and the companies that produce them. Traditional PR firms often ignore or even hide the social and environmental consequences of the companies and products they promote. We represent companies that integrate economic, social and environmental concerns into their core strategy.

FOUNDER

Ronald Schmidt, founder and president, is an accomplished writer, editor and manager with 20 years of business communications experience. He has worked with public corporations, small private businesses, start-up companies, non-profits and publication relations agencies. His communications experience spans a broad range of technologies, including telecommunications, network management, engineering design, storage, enterprise servers, medical devices, data access, and network security.

Prior to launching Rosswood Communications, Schmidt was director of public relations at Securify, a network security firm in Mountain View, Calif. He also held the position of public relations nanager at Ramp Networks, which was acquired by Nokia. His public relations agency experience includes Cunningham Communication, where he launched enterprise servers for the Hewlett-Packard Company. At Neale-May & Partners, his clients included Attachmate, Citadon, Entrust Technologies and Magnifi. Schmidt has held marketing communications positions with SuperMac Technology, Farallon Computing and La Cie, and has written technical documentation for Macromedia, Dantz and SonicWall.

Ronald graduated with a B. A. in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley with an emphasis in business and computer science. He is the recipient of the Technical Communications Award from the Society of Technical Communicators and has spoken at professional association meetings and technical conferences. He is past president of the International Association of Business Communicators, Silicon Valley chapter.
